| Traditional Family Accommodations |
| A
family operated resort since 1890, the newly expanded Port Cunnington
Lodge maintains its commitment to traditional Muskoka hospitality. While
the historic Victorian lodge remains its centerpiece and hub of activities,
Port Cunnington has built seven new custom
family cottages, added two traditional
cottages, and expanded its shoreline. Located on Lake of Bays - 2nd Largest in Muskoka Port Cunnington is located in a sheltered bay across from historic Bigwin Island on Lake of Bays. The lake's 365 miles of shoreline provide excellent opportunities for fishing, swimming, sailing, water-skiing, canoeing, walking, or whatever strikes your fancy. At Port Cunnington, you'll find a total of 1,800 feet of picturesque shoreline on 22 of Muskoka's scenic acres. The resort's gently sloping sandy beach curves around to form a rocky point. "Blueberry Point" is a secluded spot where you can picnic amid towering evergreens and birches and delight in an expansive view of Lake of Bays. You can use one of our two boat houses as a haven for your boat or as a jumping off point for a pre-breakfast swim or any other adventure on the lake. Port Cunnington Lodge is an ideal place for families or couples who want to spend uninterrupted time together. There is no television, and only the Lodge has a telephone. Children of all ages are as welcome as adults. We have friendly, experienced staff dedicated to seeing that all our guests enjoy themselves. Tennis, Golf, or Canoe / Hike Algonquin Park During the summer and warmer days in the spring and fall, you can play tennis on the resort's well maintained court or if you'd rather, try a golf game at one of the five Muskoka courses, including the magnificent new Deerhurst Highlands. A hike or canoe trip in the wilderness of Algonquin Park can easily be accomplished in a day; the entrance to the park is just a 25-minute drive from your accommodation. A Muskoka Cottage Resort Where History Comes Alive Port Cunnington's hosts, the Loader family, will make you feel right at home whether you're on a getaway weekend or an extended family vacation. Descendants of Boyce Henry Cunnington, the first hotelier in the area and founder of Port Cunnington Lodge, the Loader family have at their fingertips a wealth of information about the early history of the hamlet. ^ back to the TOP ^ |
